How we do things is just as important as what we do
When I founded Sunnova in 2012, it was largely to change the way people source and use energy by offering a better energy service at a better price. My focus has always been to use our business as a powerful source for good — to change the way people energize their lives and help transform the world for the better.
Our overarching commitment to ESG is at the heart of our business practices which are underpinned by out core values: service, synergy, and sustainability. Our values serve as guiding principles that every employee and business we work with is expected to live by and exemplify on a daily basis.
Even now, amidst the historic challenges brought on by the a global pandemic, we see how truly interconnected environmental, social and economic systems are, and how our collective actions can have an enormous impact when we work together to find solutions. We all have a role to play in our shared energy future, and regularly evaluating the role we play and our impact is essential to holding ourselves accountable.
That’s why I’m proud to share that today we published our inaugural Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report. We intend to release our ESG report annually to reflect on our positive impacts as well as outline the work that lies ahead. Our Environmental Impact
As a clean energy company, positive environmental impact is in our DNA, but so is a continuing effort to further reduce our direct and indirect impacts. We aim to align our business with advancing the Paris Climate Accords in an effort to achieve the realization of a net-zero economy. Additionally, we are working to improve our systems for carbon accounting in order to be able to substantiate claims of being carbon negative as well as to be able to set climate goals in the future.
